The Fudge Cottage was founded in 1990. From small beginnings on a stall in Cathedral Square with a fold out table, demand for the unique fudge quickly grew leading to a shift to The Arts Centre market shortly after. On Valentine’s Day, 1994, The Fudge Cottage Shop opened its doors and introduced a wide array of traditional treats to the people of Christchurch and is now one of the city's local icons. The Fudge Cottage began Kitchen Tours in 1999, providing an exciting insight into the art of fudge making.
